| Indian Govt Won't Reduce Import Duty For Electric Cars |
According to Junior Minister Krishan Pal Gurjar," No Such Proposal is under consideration in Ministry of Heavy Industries". He also said that Government is planning to promote Electric Cars by lowering some taxes and India has no intention to reduce Import Duties on Electric Cars.
This statement comes after Tesla Inc. Appealed to Government to lowering taxes.
Indian Government's Response
Junior Minister Krishan Pal Gurjar said that There is no such proposal is under consideration in Ministry of Heavy Industies.
But also Indian Government planning to promote Electric Cars.
To make it affect, India will lowering domestic taxes and building charging stations.
India has no intention to reduce Import Duties on Electric Cars.

Tesla give proposal to Ministry of Transport Industries to cut Import Duties on Electric Cars or Vehicles (EVs) to 40% from current ongoing rate of 60-100%.
- 60% Import Duty Levied on Fully Imported Cars costing below $40000.
- 100% Import Duty Levied on Fully Imported Cars Costing above $40000.
Tesla proposed that there is only 1 Tesla Car below $40000 so if India will lower Import Duties than it Generates Good Demand and Good Revenue to Government.
